Asian Market Wednesday

Housing provided a bus to take an excursion to the Asian Market today. I was kind of expecting to end up at a Paddy's Market type of place with Asian produce and $2 shop merchendise. In actual fact it was just a supermarket! Although it was full of Asian food stuffs from places like Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, China, Malaysia, etc., as well as local produce with an Asian flavour.

My New Zealand room-mate has a Hong Kong Chinese background so she was very happy gathering all her favourite foods not readily available here in America. Fortunately she was also able to interpret a lot of the labelling for me, otherwise I would not have had a clue what was in most of the cans and packages!

It's the first place I have been to that sells canned Coconut Milk so I bought a couple for future curries and laksas. But the best thing they had for sale was a piece of proper pumpkin!! Planning on roasting that tomorrow as I am going out tonight with friends to the local Indian restaurant. I have been really craving a good Vindaloo!

I love pumpkin!!
Have a Magical Day!
