Disney provide really fun 'graduation' ceremonies for those people who have completed the college or international programs. Because there are so many different programs and start/finish dates, they often hold these ceremonies many weeks before the participants are due to go home. An email came out inviting all January to March arrival date CPs and ICPs to ceremonies held on the 10-12 May.
There was some confusion as to whether the Aussies and NZs were supposed to attend or not, but my friend rang to confirm and we were told to attend.
On the day we went (May 10) there were certificates to recieve, a big BBQ and graduation Mickey ears to collect. There were also a lot of characters in grad gear for photo opportunities.
When my friend and I went to get our certificates they were not there, and we were told we were not supposed to be there as there would be a special antipodean event in June! Quite rightly we made a fuss as we had been told to come, and since we really just wanted to have our photo taken with Mickey in a pair of graduation Mickey ears, they let us take some ears and get a photo!
In order to get the ears and have the Mickey photo taken we needed to have wrist bands, which also allowed you to get food & drinks from the BBQ. Since we already had the bands we thought it only fair that we should eat while we were there, the burgers were really good but the drink I picked up that I thought was coke turned out to be cold sweet tea, yuck!
The DJ then gave out some gear and we were given a really cool travel rug and a cooler bag each, both of which had the Disney All-Star Resort logo on them which is where I stayed with my family!
All in all a pretty good few hours at a graduation ceremony you have when you are not having a graduation ceremony!
We have since learnt that our true ceremony will be held on the same day as my birthday, so that should be a fun day too!
Have a Magical day!
